Deborah Cachet

Deborah Cachet, described by Gramophone as “an immensely pleasing and confident soprano – a voice to listen out for,” is a celebrated Belgian soprano collaborating with renowned period ensembles such as Les Talens Lyriques, Les Arts Florissants, Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Le Poème Harmonique, and Collegium 1704.

 

She has graced prestigious venues like Theater an der Wien, Musikverein, Bozar, Wigmore Hall, and Philharmonie de Paris, as well as festivals including the Utrecht Early Music Festival, Festival de Saintes, and Innsbrucker Festwochen für Alte Musik.

 

Recent highlights include her role debut as Iphis in Händel’s Jephtha with Les Talens Lyriques and Christophe Rousset in Oslo and Namur, her debut at Drottningholm Palace Theatre in Lully’s Armide, and a tour with Collegium 1704 as Alphise in Rameau’s Les Boréades in Madrid. She has performed Händel’s Messiah in Prague, Dresden, and Seville, Monteverdi’s Vespro della Beata Vergine across Europe, and Bach’s Hohe Messe with Gli Angeli Genève.

 

On the opera stage, Cachet has portrayed Théone (Phaéton), Helena (A Midsummer Night’s Dream), Procri (Gli amori d’Apollo e di Dafne), Dido (Dido and Aeneas), and Arminda (La finta Giardiniera).

 

She frequently collaborates on baroque works such as Leçons de ténèbres (Charpentier) and Bach cantatas with leading ensembles. Her discography features La chambre bleue (2023) and recordings with Collegium 1704, Les Talens Lyriques, and Le Poème Harmonique.

 

A laureate of Le Jardin des Voix (2019), she has received top prizes at international competitions and was named Klara Radio’s Young Promise of the Year in 2020. Cachet studied in Leuven, Amsterdam, and with Rosemary Joshua, refining a voice that continues to captivate audiences worldwide.
